Abstract: 

Background: The rapid growth of computer technology in recent decades suggests that people today, in addition to print media, have many electronic INFORMATION items that need to be managed appropriately and have increased the use of PERSONAL computers.Aims: This Researches descriptive and analytical based on the purpose of applied Research, and in terms of data collection and nature and comparison between the activities of PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT and two measures of knowledge and skills has been presented.Methodology: The statistical population includes the students of Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in Ahvaz in the academic year 2017-2018. To determine the statistical population, the sampling method was used by determining the total number of students 1300 and using the Karjesi-Morgan table, the approximate number of the sample was determined to be 297. The data collection was done using the questionnaire of 2012 and in order to analyze Pearson and Spearman correlation tests and AMOS and SPSS software were used.Results: The results of the survey show that knowledge and skill variables have a significant and positive effect on PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT, and age, level of education, and school of study have a significant and positive effect on PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT.Conclusions: The results of the research show that the status of PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT of medical students in Jundishapur Ahvaz has a positive and meaningful effect based on the knowledge and skills of the students. According to the changes made in the MANAGEMENT of PERSONAL INFORMATION activities, it can be said that the difference in the amount and amount created in the variables of PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT can be seen. The main reasons for this can include not having enough time, work pressures and lack of familiarity with the activities required for PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT.

Abstract: 

Background and Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the Iranian PERSONAL paper INFORMATION MANAGEMENT of knowledge and INFORMATION science and medical library INFORMATION sciences faculty members based on the Jones model. Methodology: This is an application research and the survey method was conducted. The statistical population included faculty of knowledge and INFORMATION science and medical library and INFORMATION sciences in Iranian state universities. The research tool is a questionnaire based on previous studies made and its validity and reliability were confirmed. To analyze the data using statistical software spss22 descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used. Result: The overall average of PERSONAL paper INFORMATION MANAGEMENT is 3. 32. The highest and lowest scores were related to measuring and evaluating and security with 3. 682 and 2. 995. In terms of gender, affiliation and the age difference is not significant; but in terms of the degree of difference between the Associate and Assistant Professor there. Conclusion The highest average person in the age group 45-36 years the PERSONAL paper INFORMATION MANAGEMENT, Associate Degree, medical librarians and women's groups. On the whole, despite a relatively favorable status, the need to improve the skills of faculty members in the face of massive amounts of paper INFORMATION comes in, to spend the least cost, best INFORMATION in the most appropriate time to recover.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between demographic characteristics of faculty members of the research institutes affiliated to the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) with their use of PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT components. Methodology: This applied research was conducted using a survey method. The research population was composed of all faculty members of the affiliated research institutes of the MSRT, whom 302 of them were selected by stratified random sampling method. The data gathering tool was a researcher-made questionnaire designed based on the Jones 2012 theoretical framework and the opinions of other experts in the field of PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT. Data were analyzed using SPSS software. Findings: The findings showed that the faculty members were at desirable and higher than expected mean level for using PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT components. There was a significant difference between the use of six components of PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT among the faculty members based on the all demographic variables including gender, academic group, academic degree, academic position, and work experience but except for age Conclusion: According to the findings of the research, to enhance the PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT skills of faculty members, training courses as well as distribution of educational pamphlets, brochures, and slides were proposed.

Abstract: 

Background and Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the Iranian PERSONAL electronic INFORMATION MANAGEMENT of knowledge and INFORMATION science and medical Library and INFORMATION Sciences faculty members based on the Jones model.Method: This study is kind of application research and in terms of data collection is descriptive and analytical study. The statistical population included faculty of knowledge and INFORMATION science and medical library and INFORMATION science in Iranian state universities. Data were collected by a questionnaire that its validity is confirmed by the IS professors, and its reliability was measured by Cronbach's alpha coefficient (0.81). To analyse the data, descriptive and inferential statistic using SPSS statistical software was used.Results: Analysis of the data showed that the average of activities in finding and re-finding were 4.0101, in storage was 4.0783, in organization was 3.2424, in maintaining were 2.8106, in security were 3.1162, in measuring and evaluation was 3.7803, in making sense of things was 3.9192 and total average PERSONAL electronic INFORMATION MANAGEMENT was 3.5659. Findings showed that there was nosignificant difference in the PERSONAL electronic INFORMATION MANAGEMENT in terms of gender and organizational affiliation, but in terms of the scientific and age there, there were significant differences among faculty members. The differences were found between the scientific degrees of associate professor and professor, and between the age group 36-45 years old and up to 56 years old.Conclusion: The results indicated that faculty members in the age group 46-55 years old as well as associate degree had the best performance. Also, faculty members of medical library and INFORMATION science had been used greater extent PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT activities and PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT quality women had better than men. Faculty members had desirable operation to Retrieve and store INFORMATION, but they do not well maintained this INFORMATION and do not provide appropriate security measures. In general, MANAGEMENT of PERSONAL electronic INFORMATION was in the relatively good level.

Abstract: 

Background and Aim: PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (PIM) process consists of four activities; acquisition, organization, maintenance and retrieval. Obviously this process is due to human limitations and expanding scope of PERSONAL space of INFORMATION which has become an exhausting and difficult process. Use of technology and tools related to PIM could facilitate this procedure. This survey study aims to investigate PIM behavior and its four activities among graduate students in the University of Birjand and was performed on the basis of digital environment.Method: Population of this study was all graduate students at the University of Birjand in the 2013-2014 academic year. Self-assessment questionnaire was used to collect INFORMATION.Results and Conclusion: The results show that the overall PIM and all four activities among graduate students at the University of Birjand were less than estimated desired rate and there were significant differences between PIM in various course studies, also among master's and doctoral students. Computer and laptop was most used tools for storage of PERSONAL collection, the most widely used method for organizing based on content and finally the most common method for retrieval of INFORMATION was based on the explanatory notes.Originality: PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT filed is a relatively new area of research and yet little research was performed in PIM area in Iran. Meanwhile the studies perform, have less focused on the behavioral aspects of PIM and have been more observing PIM tools and affecting factors.

Abstract: 

The problem of PERSONAL identity among others may stem from the following question—what does be the person that you are, from one day to the next, necessarily consist of? The diachronic problem of PERSONAL identity raises question on the necessary and sufficient conditions for the identity of the person over time. The synchronic problem is grounded in the question of what features or traits characterize a given person at one time. To answer these questions, John Locke discarded the soul and the body as necessary and sufficient substances for PERSONAL identity over time. He accepted consciousness as the only criterion for PERSONAL identity; the only thing capable of remaining the same and preserving PERSONAL identity through change. Though Locke’s argument is somewhat clear and coherent but what remains vague and incoherent is embedded in the question—what exactly is consciousness? How and why should it be the basis or criterion for the determination of PERSONAL identity? Using the method of critical analysis, I argue that Locke’s choice of consciousness as the determinant of PERSONAL identity, though quite novel, is incoherent and vague. Secondly, Locke had already presumed and anticipated clearly though fallaciously the very thing he wishes to substantiate. I therefore conclude that Locke’s argument is just another way of trying to escape but inadvertently prolonging the difficulty of apparently articulating a distinction between the psychological approach and physiological approach to the problem of PERSONAL identity. However, in my submission, I propose the concept of the “other” as alternative approach— a sort of an extrinsic-intrinsic approach to the problem of PERSONAL identity.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the dimensions of PERSONAL knowledge MANAGEMENT (PKM) of administrators in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. A survey research method was applied to conduct the study.Methods: A simple random sample of 91 academic, research, student affair, financial administrators, and department chair subjects in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences participated in the study by responding to PKM questionnaire. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire was tested and verified. The collected data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, repeated measure analysis and multivariate analysis of variance procedures.Results: Results showed that Most of the administrators had a medium level of PKM skills. Furthermore, results indicated that highest mean was self-learning MANAGEMENT (19) and lowest mean were knowledge networks (14.37) and research skills (14.30). Comparing PKM skills of administrators to sex (f=2.50, P=0.01) and type of organization (between faculty and central organization of university) (f=2.50, P=0.01) demonstrated a significant difference, however, the rest did not so.Conclusion: PKM skills are one of the most essential skills of administrators, especially educational administrators, because of their task such as teaching and improvement of every educational and research activity.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to study the effective factors on PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT and to recognize the strength and weakness in PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT of postgraduate students at Alzahra University.Methodology: The methodology of the research, in the part of the literature review and theoretical literature, is library study and in the part of the analysis, is survey study (descriptive and analytic). The data were gathered through a researcher made questionnaire that contained 4 parts and 73 questions. The research population includes all of the postgraduate students (at M.A/M.Sc and PhD degrees) at Alzahra University whom are studying at this university during the educational year of 2011-2012. Based on the random sampling, 309 postgraduate students at M.A/M.Sc degree and 70 postgraduate students at PhD degree participated at this research.Findings: It should be noted that PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT of the postgraduate students has been studied under the factors of “attitude, knowledge and skill.” The research results represent that among the effective factors on PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT, the attitude average is 3.95, knowledge’s average is 3.29, and the skills set have the average of 3.17. Furthermore, the average of the three mentioned factors’ averages is about 3.47.Conclusion: The amount (3.47) indicates that the situation of PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT of postgraduate students at Alzahra University is at the upper to the average level. On the other hand, the situation of PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT by Ph.D. students is the same as M.A./M.Sc. students and this amount is around 3.47. Thus it can be said that there is no significant relation between PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT by Ph.D. students and M.A./M.Sc. students.

Abstract: 

Background and Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of print and electronic PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT activities and compare them between faculty of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz.Methods: The present study, is conducted in a survey, In terms of purpose, it is an applied type and In terms of nature, it is descriptive and analytical. The research community consists of all faculty of Shahid Chamran University of Ahwaz. In order to analyze the data, were used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.Results: Results showed that the overall average print INFORMATION MANAGEMENT boards of faculty is 2.86 and electronic PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT is 2.82. In this way, the print and electronic PERSONAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT activities of faculty are in a relatively good level. Results indicate that There is no significant difference between the print and electronic INFORMATION MANAGEMENT activities of faculty of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz.Conclusion: The results indicate that the activities of electronic INFORMATION MANAGEMENT and print INFORMATION MANAGEMENT activities of the faculty are equal and none of them overlap.New phenomena always need more time to know and prove themselves, and new electronic gadgets may be used in the future.
